Sallie Dawkins

I have always believed that some of life’s hardest seasons often become the very places where we discover who we truly are.
I am an author, publisher, entrepreneur, former educator, military veteran, and lifelong lover of animals, nature, gardening, and the quiet beauty found in everyday life. Through both fiction and nonfiction, I write books that explore themes of faith, healing, identity, resilience, personal growth, and the ways difficult seasons often shape us into who we are becoming.
My own journey has not always been easy.
In my early twenties, shortly after leaving active military service, unexpected health challenges began a long and difficult chapter of my life. Over time, chronic illness, pain, trauma, and years of unanswered questions deeply challenged both my physical health and my understanding of faith. Like many people walking through suffering, I found myself wrestling with disappointment, fear, and questions about whether God was still near in seasons that felt uncertain and overwhelming.
Everything began to change in 2015 when a deeply personal encounter with God challenged much of what I believed about faith, healing, identity, and what it truly means to trust Him. That season marked the beginning of profound transformation in every area of my life and eventually inspired the award-winning Awakening Christian series, where I first began sharing the testimony of how restoring my relationship with God helped restore hope in places I had long believed were beyond repair.
Since then, my writing has continued to grow alongside my own journey.
Some of my books focus on spiritual growth, identity in Christ, healing, and discovering wholeness in difficult circumstances. Others reflect my love for animals, farming, gardening, country life, service dogs, self-publishing, and creating family-friendly stories that help readers of all ages find meaning in the world around them.
No matter the topic, the heart behind my work remains the same.
I want to create books that encourage people to grow through adversity, live with courage and compassion, discover purpose in unexpected places, and remember that difficult seasons do not get the final word over who we are.
When I am not writing, you will usually find me outdoors with animals, working on creative projects, photographing rural life, encouraging fellow writers, studying Scripture, or simply paying attention to the quiet ways God reveals beauty in ordinary things.
If something I have written helps someone find hope, healing, clarity, or courage for the road ahead, then I consider that work well worth doing.
